You can add your room key to Apple Wallet and access your room using only your iPhone or Apple Watch. It’s easy, convenient, and private.
How do I set up and use a room key in Apple Wallet? +
You can add a room key to Apple Wallet after making your reservation. After completing online check-in, click the Wallet icon to add your key. The room key will be automatically activated once you have checked in and your room has been assigned. To use it, simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the door reader.
Can I use room keys in Apple Wallet if I have a reservation for multiple rooms? +
Yes. Your room key will be automatically activated for each room you have reserved.
Where can I use the room key in Apple Wallet? +
In addition to your room, your key can also be used to access the same hotel areas where you would normally use a physical key card, such as the main entrance, elevators, and your room door.
How secure are keys in Apple Wallet? +
When you add your room key to Apple Wallet on your iPhone or Apple Watch, it is stored directly on your device. This means Apple cannot see which spaces you access or when you access them. Your data remains private and secure.
What do I need to start using the room key in Apple Wallet? +

Do I need to unlock my iPhone to use my room key in Apple Wallet?+
With Express Mode, you don’t need to wake or unlock your iPhone or Apple Watch to use your room key in Apple Wallet. Express Mode is enabled by default.
Can I continue using my room key in Apple Wallet if my iPhone runs out of battery?+
The Power Reserve feature allows access for up to five hours after your iPhone needs charging. This feature is available on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later models.
How can I add the room key to my Apple Watch?+
When you add a room key to Apple Wallet on your iPhone, it is automatically added to Apple Wallet on your paired Apple Watch. Once added, simply hold your Apple Watch near the reader.
On how many devices can I use my room key in Apple Wallet?+
You can use your room key on up to 1 iPhone and 1 Apple Watch. Both devices must be connected to the same Apple account and iCloud.
What should I do if my iPhone or Apple Watch is lost or stolen?+
Use the “Find My” app or iCloud.com to suspend, deactivate, or reactivate your device in Apple Wallet.
I can't add or use my key in Apple Wallet. What should I do?+
- Update your device to the latest version of iOS or watchOS.
- Make sure you have Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode set up.
- Verify that your Apple account is connected to iCloud with two-factor authentication enabled.
- Check if you accepted Apple’s terms and conditions when signing in to iCloud.
How do I remove a Wallet card from a device (for example, after switching to a new iPhone or Apple Watch)?+
If you no longer use a device, you can remove Wallet cards directly from the device or online. Once removed, you can add them to a new iPhone or Apple Watch.

- From your iPhone:
Open the Wallet app and select the card you want to remove. Tap the More button in the top right corner, scroll down, and tap Remove Card.
Note: this will also remove the card from paired Apple Watches. - 2. Online (if you no longer have the device):
Go to account.apple.com and sign in. Select Devices in the sidebar, choose your device, and click Remove Items.
Note: this will remove all Wallet cards and passes from that device.
